PROFESSIONALS SECTION
Making a referral
- Intake Triage clinics are run jointly with the Drug and Alcohol Services Huntingdonshire (DASH) and Drinksense. They are held at the Drinksense site.
- Third party referrals are accepted from GPs, Social Services, CPNs, housing providers and other professionals involved with clients.
- Referrals can only be accepted with Client consent.
- Referrals must be received in writing via post or fax
- Clients can also refer themselves to any of our services, via telephone attendance at one of our Walk-in sessions (see contacts page for details)
What happens after a referral?
- An appointment will be offered to the client for an Initial Assessment Interview. This interview will be with a trained worker.
- At the weekly team meeting assessments are discussed and suitable treatment options decided.
- The client is then advised of the decision, be it allocation of a keyworker for Counselling and Therapeutic services or referral onto DASH for detoxification, rehabilitation, occupation therapy and group support or referral to our Adult Outreach Services.
More than one of these options may be appropriate, so clients can receive more than one service at the same time. Equally during engagement with the Service the needs of the Client may change and they will be offered treatment options as necessary. All cases are constantly reviewed.
- We will keep you informed of progress with the client.
